If you are from the Ozarks, this is a must read from an author who was intimately close to this eccentric man who had pet wolves and a world-famous book collection.
We will interview James about the story, how he came to write it and have him share a few excerpts that are fascinating.
James Owen left the family farm in Elkland to become a lawyer to some success. In fact, that is where he became involved with the facts that make up this book. He was appointed a judge in Webster County and, after that, worked in state government. James now runs a non-profit (Renew Missouri) focused on clean energy. In addition, he writes a film column for the Columbia Daily Tribune and frequently appears on KWTO’s The Elijah Haahr Show to talk about movies. He also hosts two podcasts: Renew Gurus and www.filmsnobs.com. James lives in Columbia, Missouri with his wife, Claire, and their two kids, Cecile and Miles, along with an unruly dog named Rosie.
